Can I connect my Power Supply to my R9 280x using a EPS-12V 8pin to 2 x PCI-E 8(6+2)pin connector?

I nabbed the PSU out of another computer I'm not using so it doesn't have all of the cables it normally comes with. I could use the 2 8-pin to molex cables that came with the card, but that's 4 molex cables that I don't have and I'd rather use a single cable if possible.
I am aware the Vapor-X card calls for a 750W PSU, but I'm not going to overclock or crossfire them and I've read that it can manage that way. If any more info is needed or if there is a better solution to my problem (or if the PSU simply won't cut it), just let me know. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Read somewhere that the R9 280X requires 30A on the 12V rail. So I may need to nab a different PSU anyway. I'm still curious about my previous question though
