TLDR- If overclocking isn’t one of your goals with these cards, and if you’re just looking for a decent graphics card for a gaming rig, the MSI is the way to go. Even though none of the cards is particularly noisy, MSI’s clearly is the quietest one. The difference in performance compared to the other cards is negligible, in our opinion.

If you wish to use the GTX 960 in a smaller (ITX) system, you risk not being able to fit the MSI and Gigabyte cards into your setup in terms of length or height. In that case the ASUS and Zotac cards spring into view. The cards are similarly big and about as quiet, but ASUS proves that a cooler of the same size and noise production can cool quite a bit more. As far as we're concerned, the ASUS card is the best pick in that respect.
