Title pretty much explains my problem. When i boot my PC and login, it is painfully slow for the first 10 minutes. What could cause this? I have no viruses/malware in my PC:
Thanks!

Specs if needed:
i5 3570 cpu
msi r9 270 gpu
8gb crucial ballistix ram
normal 7200 rpm hdd

Solution
If the slow down really only in the first 10min or a bit longer after booting.
If you have already checked and you have no malware, viruses or whatsoever.

Did you check how many start-up program you have?
Did you check if Windows is doing anything stupid like automatic defrag, building index, scheduled activities, etc.?
Just try to turn all of those things off.

Clean the temp files, registry, etc.
Open msconfig and tell Windows to use all of the proc cores during booting.
Defrag you c:, if necessary.

Basically, try to tune your windows.

To make the booting more faster, get an SSD :D

If your are sure that you have no viruses then I would check the start up programs.
1. go to task manager (right click a empty space in your task bar and select task manager)
2. if your using Win. 8 (click view more details)
3. Click to the "Startup tab"
4.right click the program you wish to disable or enable
5. proceed to disable any programs you feel you don't need to start after boot up (Some are measured some are not)
6.reboot and tell me if it made a difference :D

In that case, if you're absolutely sure that the PC isn't infected, then you probably have all manner of programs running at startup. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > System Configuration to see what's running and disable the ones you don't need.

Failing that, run chkdsk.exe and defrag.exe to verify that your HDD is running smoothly.
