I am looking to build a 1440p gaming rig that will let me bring out the full potential on the Asus Rog Swift 27" monitor. This is my first build so please let me know if I should change anything and please explain why. My budget is $4000 (I do not own a monitor, mouse, keyboard, headset etc yet).

The specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 7
http://
PSU: Corsair RM Series 1000 Watt ATX/EPS 80PLUS Gold-Certified
http://
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790K Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.40 GHz)
http://
GPU: 2x ASUS Graphics Cards STRIX-GTX980-DC2OC-4GD5
http://
Ram: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 2x8GB DDR3 2400MHz
http://
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD
http://
HDD: WD Black 2TB
http://
CPU COOLER: Corsair H100i
http://
Case: Cooler Master HAF X - Full Tower
http://
MONITOR: ASUS PG278Q ROG Swift 27-Inch
http://
OPTICAL DRIVE: Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black)
http://

For the Fans I was thinking about going with some Noctua NF-F12 PWM Cooling Fans and also replace the one's coming with the cpu cooler. How many will I need in total for this case and build?

Solution
The RM psu will be very bad for this build (the quality not the wattage).
Speaking of wattage a 750w will work fine.
For the case you can look at the enthoo luxe by phanteks. Its very good.
I suggest go for these parts=
psu= http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20850xr <-- I know I said 750 but you can get 850w JUST to be safe.

Case= http://pcpartpicker.com/part/phanteks-case-phes614lbk

If you want to cut some costs I can do that for you (without skimping out on the important parts though.)

Ok I changed my PSU to: EVGA SuperNOVA 850G2 80PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V/EPS12V 850W Power Supply.
Case to: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Full Tower Chassis PH-ES614L_WT White

And wow I really love that case Ykki, it's very cool and it's even cheaper than the old one thanks a lot. And please if you could cut some costs for me that would really be great. I plan on placing my order some time beginning of next week.

Do you really need an optical drive? You can get a really smexy NZXT h440 for a case but it doesn't support optical drives so you can get an external optical drive which connects via usb.

Well yes I need a optical drive I also would like everything to fit in the case, the Enthoo Luxe with the multi-color led's is what I've been looking for. I'm willing to pay those extra 20 bucks for it. Thanks a lot for the help I really appreciate it.
