I have a semi modular power supply and noticed that sata peripheral have 6 holes but only 5 pins going out of them.
If i use a sata power cord i see that the cable that isn't used is a ground cable is that dangerous ?
Sorry if my question seems weird or dumb.

The 5 pins will be like 1x 3.3v, 1x 5v, 1x 12V, and 2x GND. If the socket is the 6 pins, then there are 3x GND and the rest are same. Just like clutchc said there are so many ground connections between the PSU and the MB. And you are fine, don't worry.

The model is a Akasa Venom Power 1000w but the pcb of my hdd fried trying to power up my pc. As long as i have no drives connected the pc boots fine but I'm not going anywhere without a hdd or OS. Thanks anyway :)

And checking on my sata power cable the pin missing should have been used for ground so there is 3.3v,5v,12v and 1 ground
