Hi i am upgrading my system and wanted to upgrade my drives.
first for storage i have two WD Black 500GB HHD and i was thinking of just combining them into one lager drive say a 1TB or 1.5TB. I also wanted to lower the drive load times if possible and by that i mean sometimes when i open the drive it will need to 'load' it shows what looks like a loading bar and the drive wont show anything until it's done 'loading' this also happens when i open a folder with lest say 100+ files.
Would a faster drive fix this, is it a setting in windows to make it read it faster? also are there HHD that are faster then a WS Black that are reasonably priced?

Second is upgrading my SSD's. Now i have two ~120GB drives one for just my OS and one for just games, they perform good i just think i can get more out of a newer drive say a samsung 850. I was going to do a 120GB for the OS and a 250GB for games but i cant find info anywhere that compares a single ssd to two ssd's so i ask you all is there a performance gain with the 2 drive setup or should i just get a single 250 drive for OS and games.

Thanks

For the hard drives the speed difference between the 500 and 1TB are minimal. Having a greater pattler denisity does help a little but not a whole lot.

as far as SSD's go the only reason why i would go with the 120 and 250 GB option is if i had a lot of games and wanted them all installed. But for the price of a 250 and a 120 you might as well cough up the extra cash and just get a 500 Gb drive. Think amazon has them for like 180/190 right now.

If you have the money get a 256gb or a 128gb ssd for boot (programs and os) then use a 1tb or 2tb for storage. Currently the best ssd for the price to performance is the Samsung 850 Pro or Evo. Both are excellent ssds. The difference between a ssd and hdd is exponential.
