I have a router/modem connected to my laptop and the wireless light is lit on the router. I have a network adapter in my laptop but I don't know how to make it wireless. Even the tech from Verizon who was here installing the router didn't know how to do it. So I use it wired which is fine. However, I am thinking of buying a tablet and wonder if I could set the tablet up for wireless since I have the router while at the same time leaving the laptop wired. Or do you have to have both the same?

Solution
Google the brand/model of your verizon router. Then find the manual. It will run you through how to set up your wireless network.

Then you should do the same for your laptop and learn how to use it with wireless networks.

what happens when you try to go to web address 192.168.1.1

( or more specifically, hit the Win key on the keyboard, write CMD, hit enter, type ipconfig, notice the default gateway number, type exit, and then in IE/firefox write that address in the address bar )
