Hello, yesterday I built a new gaming pc.I couldn't get any sound so I installed drivers and stuff, still nothing.Today I took it to the store from where I bought it to have it checked, and the employee there told me that the warranty may not be valid because of some bent pins (?).Such thing can't be true because the pc would boot and I was able to use it,except that the sound wasn't working! After removing the motherboard,I just took the CPU (i5 4690k) out, nothing more. How can they have been bent?

Next time have them show you the bent pins, I honestly do not trust sales employees. And it is surprisingly easy to bend pins in an LGA socket. Even the slightest motion that is not straight up or straight down can cause those tiny pins to twist or bend.

No I didn't because I was not sure how,but he opened the mobo in front of me and after taking a quick look he said there were some pins that had been bent. But I'm sure that none was bent.Maybe some are bent for this reason idk :p
