will not download drivers through Epson website. will not finish uploading disc supplied w/ printer

I am having a similar issue with my Epson XP-300 except I can print wirelessly but cannot scan! Even when hardwired in, the printer still sends an error message saying there is a connection problem. Epson's website does not seem to be working anymore at all.
Ever since an update 3 days ago, ALL of my peripherals (mouse, keyboard, printer, speakers) have been acting wonky or not working at all. Hope someone can help.

I finally found a link to download all of the updated drivers for the printer using Win 8.1 and after going through the set-up again (reinstalling the printer like new), I am STILL having the same problem! Help?!
