Hi,
I've just upgrade my system to the Xeon E3 1230 v3 paired with a Cooler Master TX3.
Checking the Core temperatures on HWMonitor, they are not brilliant, but they look OK in idle (around 33ºC).
I'm just a bit concerned over their temperatures on load. I ran the Prime95 Blend test for about 15 minutes and, in the first 8 minutes, the temperatures were around 62ºC max. Then it started another iteration, forcing all cores to 100% activity this time, when the temperatures raised up to around 77ºC. I decided to stop the test after 15 minutes.
Do you guys think this is an acceptable temperature? I'm aware that I'm using a low end of after market cooler, but as I read that Prime95 is not exactly good for temperature tests, so I was wondering if I could keep the current CPU cooling.
More details:
Thanks,
Dennis

More details:
- No overclocking
- Used the thermal paste that was in the TX3 box
- Room temperature: 25ºC
- The case has 2 fans, one in the front bottom pulling air to the inside and one in the back top pushing air to the outside
Thanks,
Dennis
