Hi everybody,
I'm about to set up a wifi network in my house, but I'm not so sure about what I should do to make it work, I hope you can help me on this. Thanks in advance

As you can see in this picture, the 2nd router on the G floor recieves internet signal from the main router on the 1st floor (wireless-ly) so that other PCs on the G floor can connect to the internet
The G-floor router is wired to the switch and the switched is also wired to the PCs

My question is: can this be done? or the main and 2nd router must be wired? And what should the 2nd router be? (repeater/AP/bridge/...)

The archer C7 would probably do pretty well as a main router.

Do you have an online site where we could link you some other suggestions?

PS it's very important to tell us where you live when you need to buy things :)

You should try to connect the 2 routers via ethernet. Otherwise you will not get good connectivity for the other devices.

The 2nd router should be set up as an access point.

Do you already own the routers? If not, we could suggest better scenarios for you.

I havent bought them yet because I'm still looking for a solution to the problem I'm facing: it's really hard to run a cable from my 1st floor to my ground floor. That's why I'm looking for a wireless-solution
I would love to hear your suggestion ^_^

Look into powerline adapters. You can get a basic set for $30.

You can even get a setup that provides an access point at the other end, and 2 ethernet ports. So you wouldn't even need a 2nd router.

If you got a really good primary router, you likely wouldn't have any issues with wireless coverage, and wouldn't need a 2nd wireless AP. You could still hook a switch to the powerline AP downstairs to hardwire your other devices.

Thanks for your recommendations. It seems "wireless bridge" is the solution that I've been looking for (2 routers must be connected wirelessly), I just googled it yesterday.
And I plan on setting the 2nd router as wireless bridge and buy Linksys WRT1900AC as main router, just dont know if it is worth the money I'll spend

So what router would you recommend for a 150 square meters house?

There are some much-cheaper routers I have in mind, but I have no clue if they would be strong enough to cover my building. I don't use the router for heavy file transfer. Only use the wifi to connect to the internet.
Other than the network on the ground floor which is wired, other devices on my 1st floor are connected to the internet wirelessly, so I would need good-to-very-good signal

I list them here cause I can't find any better routers in my country (except for those hi-end routers)
Asus RT-N12HP
Asus RT-N14UHP
Asus RT-N18U
TP-Link Archer C7
