gtx 970 sli in ga 970a d3p?

the motherboard is the rev. 1.0 and it says on the manufactures website that it supports amd crossfire, does this mean i can not sli or use an nvidia card in general any help would be great as i just filed taxes and am planning on getting a gtx 970 sc to replace my 280x

You don't want to run Dual cards on that board the other lane is x4 too slow.

Not SLI compatible and in Crossfire the second card would be wasted.

after reading up on that board many people seemed to have problems with bios and not booting with a fx line processor would this still be a problem as of march 13, 2015?
