CMOS Date and Time always resets

My mother \board is a ASUS P5KPL AM/PS
www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5KPLAMPS/
Its date and time always goes back to 1/1/2002 0:00 AM. I tried going to BIOS and setting the time but it continues to be the same. How can I recharge my CMOS battery? is it rechargeable?

Practically all motherboards use a CR2032 cell for CMOS/RTC.

On ATX PCs though, the CMOS/RTC is powered by the 5VSB supply when the PC is in soft-off/standby mode, so people should practically never have to replace it unless they turn off their PCs using a hard-off method. I do not remember replacing the battery on any of my ATX PCs but if you turn the PSU completely off most of the time, you may end up having to replace the battery every few years.

I do not remember seeing rechargeable batteries for the CMOS/RTC since the XT/AT days.
