I have an Acer V5-573G laptop running on Windows 8.1 and over the past couple of weeks my internet connectivity has been dropping mysteriously. It's to the point where I can only connect to the internet in one room of my house.

My internet a month ago was working absolutely fine in every room of the house.

I am able to connect to the other internet while I'm at other places, such as at University. Even more frustrating is the fact that other people who live with me are able to connect to my network just fine.

When I am in areas of my house where I can't connect to the internet when I look at the list of available networks my home network appears at max strength but I still can't connect to it.

This is super annoying since sometimes I want to watch videos in bed, etc. and I'm unable to do so. I don't have a super great knowledge of technical terms, so if it could be explained as simply as possible that would be awesome. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution
Look for an updated wifi driver for your wireless adapter, and a firmware upgrade for the router.

Some devices simply do not work well together. Plan B would be to use a USB wifi adapter.
