Hi guys, I'm building gaming PC. I'm planing on buying MSI gtx 970 and a case made by antec called GX300. But I don't know if the card will fit in the case. I've checked the depth of the card it will fit but I can't tell if the hieght of the card will fit...

Card Dimension(mm) from MSI site.
D269 x H141 x W35

And in the case site I found this

Maximum graphics card size: 15.7” (400 mm)
Maximum CPU cooler height: 5.5” (140 mm)

so does the ( Maximum CPU cooler height: 5.5” (140 mm) ) applies also to the graphic card? will the card fit in the case ?

if no, can you suggest any case coasts around 50$ ?

Thanks.

have you tried something like this to see ??

evga's cards I think are the shortest ones overall and the msi is next [??] and you stand a way better chance with NVidia compared to the 13'' monstrosity's from AMD [ you would of thought they''amd'' would of seen that that size may not of fit most mid tower cases and I wonder how may sales they lost due to that ?? ]

about your first question: if I had the case I would measure it :)

I read about some problems with evga card about the cooling system I think, also people recomended MSI for me.

nothing wrong with the evga cooling -- as long as its the atc2 and for the first cooler asus 980 cards also did not hit ther chip as well but nothing was said about them

one thing to kinda conceder its a older case designe - and back then cards were not 10-14 '' long as they are today -- I think that 300 came out in 2008 or so when card were like 6-10'' long

like I kinda said above as for you to use things is a afterthought anymore as in why make a card so long it may not fit 60% of cases out there today ??? how does that help sales ?? or you support them by buying more stuff to use it and not them supporting your needs ??

asus heat pipes mis the chip as well but evga fixed there issues

the new evga cooler

not theres anything wrong with the msi cause I would call it a toss up between the scc+ 970 and the msi .. bouth should do a fine job [evga just offers more clock rate for the money and I feel better support if something were to go wrong ]

well like I said them days are long gone its all at your own risk --- the caes guys don't look at things like this , the card guys don't look at the cases and so on it all on you .. you but there case or card and then its your tough luck it things don't fit or work together..

I got a older antec case and like the msi card at 10.59'' would go in it as long as I did not have a hard drive in the lower bay [ I think ] the evga shows its 10.1 '' that's for me is a 1/2 '' to play with ..

but like AMD and there 290 [x] cards is what I was wanting but no way am I getting one of them in it with out a hacksaw / hammer job ??

you may try at newegg at the cases page and use the question/answer deal and see if a owner of that case can reply/ answer this better for you cause he got it in his ??
MSI ..................... evga
10.59" x 5.55" 10.1" x 4.38"

evga is near a inch and a 1/4 less tall
