Hey, I just wanted to know that whether AMD/ATI Radeon Dual-X R9 270X is compatible with Intel 3.4 GHz LGA 1150 4670 i5 4th Generation Processor on ASRock H 81 PRO BTC Motherboard? According to me they should be compatible with each other but some technical guy told me that AMD R9 270X does not comply with the given processor. Please help. I want to assemble a rig.

Solution
Any board with PCI-E should work with your card of choice. Some newer cards are coming with a new firmware made for newer boards only(not sure why since legacy and uefi friendly roms can be found on the same card many times), but your board/cpu are new enough for sure.

Make sure you have the required power for your system as well.

So, you're saying these 3 will comly with each other? And my budget only allows me 270x.

So it will work. Thanks. Does a Corsair 550W SMPS provide enough power for the rig?

Make sure the power supply has the 2 required 6 pin pci-e connectors. The card is not that bad on power unless you like to run furmarks all day.

Please note some of Corsairs lower to mid end lineup do not like heat too much so a case with a bottom mounted power supply is recommended as well.

What is the model number?

ya, it will work that card will not stress that cpu at all really I would think you would have more cpu then card and that's not a bad thing -- I run a 4670 [non k ] and I would be good up to the 290 [x] or the gtx 980 with it [opinion]

I use a 7850 with it and it does a good job for what it is today and the 270 is a modified 7850 for the better [so they say] so there should be good to go

It's Model is Corsair VS550 Watts SMPS. I think it has 2 PCI Express connectors. Here's the link http://www.snapdeal.com/product/corsair-vs-550-smps/509795
Really appreciate your help!

Thanks Man. Here the price difference b/w 270x and 280x is 10K, so can't afford that. I'm thinking of these two only.

it maybe fine but I feel you can do better in psu quality as blackbird states here -- don't sell yourself short on that part

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2302507/corsair-vs550-good-build.html

to me the psu is as important as everything else in the build and may leave you wishing you did better down the road [more opinion]

like I said the 7850 is doing me fine I would like better but as long as it holds up I'm still good with it

While not top end, it should meet your needs without issues. I still recommend a case with the power supply on the bottom instead of the top(for any system).

I was thinking of same PSU, Corsair VS550. Do you think it would be able to run my RIG?

Thanks a lot man. Now I just need to find a case which has PSU settlement at bottom. Appreciate your help.

I find bottom mounted power supplies tend to run cooler because they are not eating as much heat from other parts. In my testing it has always lead to lower temperatures.

I do have a system with the power supply as the main exhaust and it works fine, but my ambient temperatures are not as high as some users.

With power supplies that dislike too much heat, I go bottom mount for sure.
