I have a Dell Inspiron 570 that I use for CAD and business. Over the years I have upgraded to an Athlon x4 CPU, more memory, and a SSD. System starts quickly except for the wired internet access. It takes about 1:14 mins for it to access internet after login. Very slow for me. I have tried to updated all drivers. I am actually considering building a new system, with a new mobo just to get rid of this annoying detail....Why is the access so slow on this one computer? I have 5 others that are very fast comparitivlly..

Solution
The delay in Ethernet starting could be due to either an impending hardware failure of the Ethernet controller, or that there are more background processes that are loading on this system.

Here is a guide to look into Windows 7 startup programs:

If that does not pan out, you can buy a separate Ethernet controller to bypass the hardware issue. A new board will be a lot less expensive than a new PC if it otherwise serves your needs.

Thank you for the help and links :) I used mscofig to root out unneeded startups, and am going to see if a separate controller will bypass the issue. I have 3 other systems that are hardwired, and 3 wireless, all to the same router with no issues like this.
