Installed a new SSD and set it as 1st boot, but there's no difference in speed on boot up?

I built this computer about three years ago with a few upgrades here and there. Today I installed a new SSD, and it shows up in Speccy and the BIOS, but it's not making my computer boot any faster at all? I timed it, and it took the usual 1 minute 30 seconds to get from pressing the power button to seeing the desktop screen. I don't really know what the problem would be, but I'll provide all the info I can on the matter.

Solution
Did you leave the old system disk in when you installed Windows on the SSD? Or did you clone the old disk to the SSD?
If you did a new install to the SSD but left the old disk in the system, it's actually starting the boot process from the old HDD and then moving to the SSD.
Another possibility, if both drives are in the system, is that it's booting from the HDD and the SSD is just sitting there being a data drive.
So can you provide more detail about how the OS got onto the SSD?
Or did you not install an OS on the SSD yet?

One thing to remember before you install Windows on the SSD is disconnect the other drive, otherwise Windows Setup will configure your PC for "dual booting" which doesn't make any sense having two identical Windows versions installed!

(Well I suppose you could always keep one 'clean' as a backup but that would be an unnecessary waste of storage space)

Thanks for that heads up! It's all installed properly and boot up is way faster than it used to be :)
