Hi Guys,

Normally I would spend more time researching how to do something but I figured we could cut to the chase here.

I've recently upgraded to Winows 8 from Windows 7 on my custom PC that I built a few years ago. Anyways, once I tried to upgrade to 8.1 and everything, I started having the issue where it couldn't install the updates and would have to revert every time i restarted.

I looked for a UEFI Secure Boot option in my EZ BIOS but I cannot find it at all. I've never flashed or upgraded my motherboard before so I know it's almost stock.

How do I re-install Windows 8 on my motherboard so that the secureboot is not a problem? UEFI clean install? Or is there an option in my BIOS that i just cannot find.

Here is my motherboard
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Simple how to for disabling Secure Boot on most ASUS Motherboards

How to shut down Secure Boot on ASUS UEFI MB. Credit to romirez for the last clue I needed: set Master password on Main Tab BIOS.
So here are the steps to disable Secure boot in ASUS BIOS; first make sure you have a clean formatted USB I just used an old 2gb and formatted to Fat32 label it PK Keys, put it in a USB port and boot up into BIOS.
Go to Boot tab page down to "Secure boot" select by hitting "Enter"
Should open "Secure Boot menu" should show Secure Boot state as "enabled" and Platform Key (PK) state as "loaded"
Page down to "OS Type" select "Windows UEFI"
Page Down to "Key Management" select by hitting "Enter" select 2nd entry "Save Secure Boot Keys" to USB. AFTER you have saved keys and confirmed on another computer that you have ALL 4 files: db, dbx, KEK, PK should be ~ 15 - 20 kb total.
Page down to PK Management select "Delete PK" look right to info panel and read it, hit "Enter". This disables Secure Boot in ASUS BIOS.

Hit F10 and reboot into BIOS

Go to Boot tab page down to "Secure boot" select by hitting "Enter"
Should open "Secure Boot menu" should show Secure Boot state as "disabled" and Platform Key (PK) state as "unloaded"

*Platform keys can be reloaded directly from BIOS afterwards by returning to secure boot menu and selecting Install default secure boot keys. The USB backup is your extra level just in case something goes wrong.
