Hi, I was just wondering why I'm getting 25-25 fps in bf4 on ultra.
My rig..
1. apu = a8-5500 overclocked to 3.5 GHz
2. gpu = r9 270x overclocked to 1100 MHz
3. psu = 600w
4. ram = 8 gigs
I've tried everything to unparking my cores and even turing down the settings to the lowest i can and i only get a 5-10 fps increase if that.
If you look at some videos on youtube like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMiUx5rbx6I
it shows that jay is running bf4 at a average at 50 fps. Is it my apu? Please help and thanks in advance.

Look at this review: http://techreport.com/review/23662/amd-a10-5800k-and-a8-5600k-trinity-apus-reviewed/10

It's not specifically for the a8-5500, but it has data for the apu that is slightly better (a8-5600k).

I would check to see how much your cpu and gpu are being utilized while playing bf4. Your gpu should be at or near 100% usage and your cpu usage should be pretty high as well. Also, another thing to check is to make sure you are using the 270x while playing and not using the integrated gpu (I think 7560D).

You can view cpu usage in windows task manager and gpu usage in a program like 'msi afterburner'.

Another thing is to do a clean install of the latest amd graphics drivers.

Okay your problem is not your GPU. 270x can run BF4 at ultra so long as it has a decent CPU. Turning down the graphics will not help FPS very much at all if it is a CPU issue. If it is a GPU issue, then turning down the settings will ,make your FPS go way up. The best CPU you can put in that board is an 860k I believe which is the equivalent to an A10 7850k. The 860k should do really well on BF4 so that might be your best bet without changing your motherboard. And if you change your motherboard you might need to buy another copy of windows.
