Do I Need 3 Sata Cables for my OD(CD Drive), HDD, and SSD?

So i'm currently building my first computer and and now i'm looking to install windows on it. However when I go to boot options I only see the hard drive and the Optical Drive (the CD Drive). Do I need 3 separate SATA cables in order for my motherboard to recognize the 3 different boot options? If that makes any sense?
