I'm building a computer and I want it to be good for games, but also good for everyday computing things. I play Total War games, World of Tanks, turn-based strategy games, and some RTS, like Planetary Annihilation type stuff. I don't really do shooters. I want one that will run those games easily on high settings, but one that can also run all kinds of programs and do a lot of multi-tasking for when it isn't being used to play games.
It seems like the FX 6300 might be good for multi-tasking, but from what I've read, it won't be as good for games as an i3. Will the 6300 be okay for what I need? or will I regret not getting something faster?
Then it's a contest between the FX 8350 or an i5. Do I really need these? I'd rather not spend the extra 50-75 bucks if it isn't necessary for what I'll be doing.
