Needing some expert build advice.

Hey.

So I've owned a custom build gaming system that was made by a company.
I've owned it for 2 years and I've made an upgrade to the gpu, these are my current specs.

AMD Vishera FX-8320, Eight-Core,
Watercooling Corsair Hydro H80i,
MSI 760GA-P43FX,
12GB Standard DDR3 RAM 1600
2000 GB SataIII Harddrive,
ASUS Strix 970
Cooler Master HAF 912
700 watt corsair

So, since I'll be getting my money back for the 970 and I'll be buying a 980 from it. I wanted to completely rebuild my system, it will be the first time I'm building a pc.

I'm planning on buying an i5-4690K.
So I was looking for suggestions for:

-Ram
-Motherboard for the 4690k

Thanks!

Edit: Guys, for a multitude of reasons I'm really getting the 4690k, I just need a motherboard that is best for it.

Solution
There really is no need to rebuild your PC, it would be a futile investment of your money. Let's face the facts:

-graphics cards is fantastic, and you really can't go better than the 980 or 970.
-RAM is more than enough, there is absolutely no reason for it to be replaced
-CPU is good, can play games well and should not pose a bottleneck unless games are poorly optimized
-hard drive - why get a new one?
-Case - unless yours is bad or ugly I don't see why a new one is needed

If you really want to go through with this I'd upgrade just too an I7 and compatible motherboard.

The only thing I would upgrade would be the case as Mr.@turkey3_scratch points out, granted that your current case, is not suitable for pleasant continuous observation.

For a case I can recommend the Fractal Design R5. Looks amazing, and you can upgrade all you want. And the price is even reasonable as well.

Perhaps, if you wanna spend some cash, buy an Intel i5-4690k or a i7-xxxK and a motherboard, I can recommend Z97-A, which is really easy to overclock with one of the Intel processors.

Keep the 970, absolutely magnificent card.

Oh, if you don't have an SSD buy one as well.

We must have differing opinions, I never like the appearance of the Fractal cases such as that one. They look like mini refrigerators to me. I think the NZXT Phantom White is the coolest-looking.

Well good Sir. We are all prisoners to the endless diversity of subjectivity - which is a good thing. For a case, specifically talking about appearance, the important thing is our sensitivity to the degree of pleasantness a given case is providing us. I must admit that the clean Scandinavian design, granted I am Scandinavian, really appeals to me from Fractal Design. Clean, simple, elegant and versatile.

I just googled your reference though, looks alright - but a bit too much going on for my taste, hehe.
