I just bought this:

and I'm happy with it. I upgraded it to 16GB RAM for some virtualization work for school.
I also need to burn some music demos to cd, so I'm looking for a DVD combo drive to add to the empty bay.
My question is: does one size fit all as far as laptops go? Or do I need to look for something specific to the computer I bought?
Also, I don't need to overwrite any cd's/dvd's so do I need DVD-RW+ or ... I could never figure that out.
Any help would be great. Thanks.
