Ok so tonight i plan to build my first PC. I have the parts and know the basics but once its built and i install windows what do i need to tweak in the bios settings to make sure its running optimally.
When building, the first thing you should do is set optimized defaults in BIOS, then set up the rest depending on your system and memory. I always set up the BIOS before installing windows then install the MB drivers. And I check to see if there is a more recent BIOS version available and flash it if there is. After a flash or a bios reset you will need to set bios up again like I mentioned above.
There are some "tweaks" that can be made in the Bios that may improve the system but read the motherboard manual it will tell you what settings are available. Since there are many settings depending on the motherboard ( higher end boards have many more "tweaks") But the system should run right out of the box as is.
