Hello guys, i am interested in buying an i7 5820k, but it is clocked low at 3,3GHz (3,6 Turbo).
I want to overclock it to 4.0 GHz stable on air cooling. The air cooling i will be using is Noctua NH-D15 with two 140mm 1500 RPM fans (if thats not enough i can use max. three fans).
1. Can i get stable 4GHz overclock with this?
2. What temps will i get on full load?
Thanks for your time guys!

You should be able to do that with a cooler that large. I would imagine that you will go into the eighties when bench marking though once you are at 4 GHz However, this depends on the silicon lottery, if you get a great chip, you may not need to raise the voltage much resulting in lower temps, and on the flip side, a not as great chip will require more voltage to run stable and thus run hotter. Three fans in a good idea.
