I'm going insane, this is my last option. I am posting this off my iPhone because I can't use my laptop. This started on a Lenovo ThinkPad R400 which worked fine. My dad offered me his HP Pavillion dv7, but it required my hard drive. So I put my hard drive in and after hours of tinkering got the Internet working. I needed it to run a game capture card as I am a youtuber. So instead of getting better graphic drivers, I ignorantly switched back. After 3 days of tinkering on the thinkpad I could not get the Internet functioning again. So here I am back on this HP Pavillion dv7. I got my network adapters and I am connected to my router, but no internet access. I have tried turning off IPv6. I have tried manually setting DNS and IP to no avail. I have done multiple system commands (winsock reset, ip int reset and a bunch more) still no dice. So, all I can find wrong is I have no IPv4 WINS address, my ip and DNS all look right when auto obtained. I'm begging for help, my YouTube and schoolwork are severely struggling because of this problem. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thank you -thurral

So you just moved the hard drive from one computer to the other?

That can cause a lot of problems unless you reinstall the operating system. There are so many specific drivers for a particular device that can have issues if put in another machine.

I'd suggest reinstalling the operating system from scratch, then setting up the computer from there.

Just be sure to get the network drivers at least from the manufacturers website.

What version of Windows do you have?

So sorry for the delayed reply, but thank you for replying. I am happy to say i am posting this from my HP. I ended up looking through some router settings, and thus found that my laptop was not on the server (old mac address with same PC name). It confused me as to why it showed it was connected, but really it was that thinkpad, so i got the right mac adress on the server. But, to answer your questions, I am running Win7 x64 and I completely wiped and re-installed the operating system each time it changed machines. Thanks for help! -Thurral
