Hello everyone. I recently finished a new rig. Here's what's inside:

FX-8350 stock w/hyper 212 evo
Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
8gb corsair vengeance pro 1866mhz
CX750 PSU
Sandisk extreme II 240GB SSD
NZXT H440 case

GTX 980 (MSI and EVGA)

I started out with an MSI GTX 980 Gaming 4G and found that performance was a bit off. Ran valley multiple times and couldn't get the card to break 3,000. Reinstalled drivers and tried again. Same result. Figuring it must be the card, I returned it to Fry's and got an EVGA GTX 980, and my results remain the same. I am wondering if these scores seem a bit low, as I have seen other scores well over 4,000, and the 970's seem to be showing much better performance than what I am seeing personally.

I just ran it for the first time and I'm only getting 2734. I think your fine, probably the test is very dependent on the settings.
My 980 is hitting 1538 Hz and my i7 is at 4.6 Ghz. But the test was running at 3440x1440 with high settings. Who knows
what other people are using when they break 4000.

I am getting high 1500's in Heaven on max 1080p. I simultaneously ran the benchmark with my other rig, with a 670 on a stock phenom II 955 black edition and score about twice as high (mid 1500's) with the 980. I think I will game on it a bit in some really well-optimized titles like witcher 2 and see for myself how it performs. I think I may just be looking for reasons to be worried with a new rig like this. I've never built a rig with gear that's quite at this level (not the highest end, but high end for me), and I may just be getting a bit fidgety at every dropped frame and irregularity. On paper, I feel like my specs are good, temps are stable, and the games i am throwing at the card like blacklist and witcher 2 all fare very well at the highest settings. A few titles like hit man absolution and farcry 3 have been giving me graphical headaches for years on a variety of cards, so I think I should do some real-world testing with the games I know are optimized well.

I just ran a 1440p benchmark and scored 2703. If your rig (admittedly much better than mine) is also scoring around the same general area, I think I may just be worrying too much. Thanks for the help.
