Basically I was running a sapphire r9 270x until about a month ago, then all of a sudden i turned on my PC and there was no picture so after a few tests i decided my graphics card must have been faulty so i got a new one as it was still under warranty. However, I thought this would be a goodtime to upgrade so I got the r9 290 vapor-x.

I expected this to be an easy fix however when i installed my new graphics card the same thing happened, no picture. It runs of the integrated graphics just fine but I have no idea whats wrong.

- I tried using another PCIE slot (the only other one was x4 but i dont think that matters) and the screen was still blanc.
- I tried reseting CMOS
- I tried completly uninstalling then reinstalling the drivers
- I set BIOS to run on the internal graphics with the GPU installed and then tried to look for it and I believe I found it recognised as an unknown piece of hardware.

Please if you could suggest anything i'd greatly appreciate it

My Rig:
Mobo - Gigabyte z97 HD3
Processor - i5 4690k
Old GPU - R9 270x
New GPU - R9 290
OS - Windows 7 64 bit
RAM - 8gb ares 1600 mhz
PSU - 750 watt core edition 80+ Bronze

Solution
It might be a power supply, video cable, or monitor issue.
I suggest firstly testing different monitor with different cable (try borrowing them, just for testing).

I had already tried this with my old graphics card but weirdly its working now with a smaller monitor. The HDMI port definitly works on the TV though as it was running the intergrated graphics. Never the less thankyou very much
