This is my first post, although I've been using Tom's Hardware a ton to make my first build.

Here's my conundrum. All I have left to buy is the CPU and mobo. I was originally planning on buying the G3258 and paring it with a Z97 mobo. However, I've read the G3258 can't even run games like DA:I and FC4, both titles that are important to me.

I've been considering the FX-6300 as an alternative paired with an Asus M5A97. I don't really know what I'm doing though so I'd love some advice. I do have a bit of a tight budget, I don't want to spend more than $220 if possible. Here's my build so far:

PowerColor R9 270x 2GB
Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 8GB Kit 4GBx2 DDR3 1600
Corsar CX500
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Antec GX500 Case

It's up to you if you want to upgrade the H mobo to a Z board so you can upgrade to a CPU that can overclock when you need to.

For gaming, get the i3 haswell.
haswell i3 in socket 1150, you have more upgrade options in the future like i5 or i7 but with fx 6300 in am3+ socket, you're stuck with 83xx series or the power hungry fx 95xx cpu.

220$ excluding or Including The R9270X ? If Not.AMD Should Work Fine.Of Course Its Faster Than Intel AND Its a 6-Core Processor. An MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard Would Be absolutely Pretty And Fast With The 6300.And You CAN Cut Down a Bit Price On The GX500 And Go For a Corsair Carbide Series SPEC Series Red and Black That Wuld Go With The RED AND BLACK AMD THEME.AND Id Go With a Gigabyte R9 270X Rather THan That Box GPU.Hope This Helped
