Hi I built my husband a new desktop and while he is gaming it freezes up and I can't figure out why.Heres what we have:
Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming
Processor:AMD FX-9590 Eight-Core 5.0Ghz 8Mb 220 Am3+
GPU: MSI GEFORCE GTX 980 4MB
PSU : 750
RAM : Corsair Vengence 166B DDR3 1866 MHZ 2x8 GB
HDD : 1TB 8GB-NAND, 64MB CACHE, SERIAL ATA/600
CASE: NZXT Ohantom 410
and my processor is liquid cooled by corsair.
I really can't figure out what the problem is.

I know my cpu isn't listed in compatibility however it is compatible I checked before I bought it when I noticed it wasn't listed . My power source is a Rosewill RD600N-2DB-SL-BK. Any ideas would be really appreciated ! Thank you,
Michele

There are 2 issues: the CPU draws too much power for that motherboard and the PSU (it really is 550W, not 750W) with two 22A 12V rails is not good enough for a 220W CPU; at full load the CPU draws 83% of the available power on its 12V rail. Slow the CPU down from 4.7 GHz to 3.5 GHz or buy a motherboard that officially supports it and a quality 600W or better single 12V rail PSU and it should then be stable.
