I would like to build my first gaming pc, but i'm a total noob. Is this a good build?

Processor: Intel Core i5 4590
Motherboard: ASRock H97M Anniversary
RAM: Crucial Ballistic Sport 8GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
GPU: Asus R9 270X DC2 2GD5
PSU: Corsair Builder CX500
Case: Bitfenix Neos Tower

Is this the best i can get for those 600 dollars, or are there any improvements i can make? Will this run BF4 on Ultra settings? Do i need an SSD, if so, which do you recommend?
