Hello ,

I have just finished my sleeving , but I made a couple of mistakes ;
I accidentaly cut a pci-e cable wich I succesfully resoldered , and while I was trying to remove a cable from the motherboard connector , only the wires went out and the crimp/atx pin is still inside that connector , therefore my system will only power on for a split second before it shuts of ( I have moved the cable back to the pin just to check if this will actually work ) . Any thoughts on how to get the pin out or how to solve the problem any way ?
The faulty cable is on the bottom left corner of the connector , if seen from above when installed to the motherboard .

thank you in advance ,

Read everything on here in a monotone for that very reason. Lot of non-native english speakers around and they don't always structure sentences in a 'nice' manner.

I would just take a pair of needle nose pliers and try and remove the pin. Or a hefty pair of tweezers if you don't have those. (old school chip (IC) extractor maybe, probably too big too fit)

Should be a decent amount of the pin exposed unless it broke in the middle.

Just the pin? You should be able to pull it out. Or perhaps your description is lacking?

Not sure why you would try starting the system when you know you have a wiring issue.

Pictures would be helpful (If they are already there, I can't see them)

Please describe what you don;t understand so I can simplify it for you :)
I started up the system because i have insterted the wire back to the atx pin , and it had a contact . i have secured it in place with hot glue as a temporary solution , but it didn't work out .

Well pretty much your entire description really. So in an attempt to remove the ATX connector you put too much force on a single wire and it came out, leaving the pin in the connector and the connector still plugged into the motherboard?

Have you tried removing the connector? Should take the pin with it. (Especially with hot glue holding it on there) If it doesn't, you will then have easy access to the remove the pin from the motherboard.

At this point I would say the pin will need complete replacement as it is probably deformed or missing the little tangs that would normally hold it in the connector. Not too hard to get a hold of from a electronics parts supplier. A crimper is not necessary for simple repairs, a pair of needle nose pliers will suffice. (Or you can just solder straight to the pin)

what you mentioned at first is the case. the connector isn't plugged in anywhere , the cable is hot lgued to the pin inside the connector so it would hopefuly worked . Removed the hot glue and I'm left with a naked 18g wire , and a connector with the pin inside it . i want to get it out to solder and tighten the cable back in the pin . Just wnat to know how can i pull this out ?

sorry if that paragraph sounded offensive , didn't mean to make it that way :)

I will try this , but if it fails , I am thinking of getting a spare connector from an old psu , and place the wires there instead , soldering the faulty cable to the cable coming from a pin inside the new connector . I guess that that would be the clean way of doing this .
