Hello,

I recently completed a build that's running a Radeon R9 290a on a Sabertooth z97 mark 1 motherboard w/ Windows 7. My monitor was getting a signal from the r9 until I installed the motherboard chipset/drivers. Now, the motherboard won't recognize the r9 at all, and the card itself gives absolutely no feed. I've tried everything I've been able to think of to resolve the issue: changing PCIe slots; changing/resetting the GPU preferences in BIOS (it keeps resetting to auto); removing/reinstalling/updating drivers. Interestingly, now the up-to-date drivers from AMD won't install at all.

I would greatly appreciate any help... This is my first build, and I'm not convinced yet that I need to return any parts quite yet.

Cheers,
D

About the only way to get rid of the chipset you installed is to either try another download and install them as the one you tried was possibly the wrong one or corrupted. Have you updated the BIOS yet, not changing settings but an actual update install? Can you change video cards long enough on the new pc to try updating the chipset? The only other way to change chipset is to reinstall windows but you will lose any data you had on the HDD.
