Hey there. So I just got done building my first PC and it runs amazingly, but my 1TB internal drive I have installed is filling up quickly with Steam games and various school documents and my SSD with Windows 7 is strictly for applications. I was wondering if I could take my 3TB Seagate External Hard Drive (bought it external about 3 years ago) and open the case and use it as an internal drive. My main concern was will it run off standard SATA ports. The reason I ask is I opened up a 300GB external WD drive and it had no SATA connectors, only the MicroUSB that it normally connected to, but this was 7 years old. So if I open the case, should I be able to easily just screw it and connect it to my computer and format it and be ready to go? Thanks for the help!

Solution
There is only one way to find out. Try it.

With the low price of hard drives, I would recommend just getting another modern hard drive or SSD.
