I have 900$ to use and i thought i would make a pc. so i made one on pc part picker (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Vt3qXL). what do you think from 1 to 10?

Solution
I agree with the above in the most part. The H97 Anniversary is not that good a board, specially when the H97M Pro4 by the same brand is more fully featured and only $5 more. Dual channel is probably not a huge deal in most games, but it is something we might as well take advantage of.

I would still prefer seeing a higher quality unit than the CX430, though. JonnyGuru's review even points out that a 30C rating on the capacitors is not trustworthy, and the build quality of the unit leaves a lot to be desired. The rating is high basically because it's priced to compete with Diabloteks and other atrocities, but we'd be better off getting a higher quality unit from the get-go for a machine with this level of graphics and CPU power.

Why are you getting a high-end cooler and a Z97 board with a locked i3? Do you plan on upgrading it pretty much right away?

There's cheaper RAM you can get with similar specs. Look at G.Skill Ripjaws, for example. Although I think maybe you were going for a color scheme here.

I think some R9 290's have been going for $250. I'd check that out before buying that 280X.

And I would pick a different power supply. A 430W unit is already a bit limiting, and that one is not a very good one. I'd pick an XFX 550W instead; more money, but much better quality.

It doesn't make very much sense from a performance stand point of view to get a cooler and CPU combination of $170 that has an i3 when you can get a i5-4460 for $174. The i5 will last a very long time with no replacements meanwhile the i3 will most likely be struggling in a year or two.

You should also be looking at getting an H97 board. If you want a true black and white theme you could get 1x4gb Kingston White Fury and a 1x4gb Kingston Black Fury.

As for the PSU, there is no way that a CX430 will be able to run a 280x. It is just not possible. You need atleast a 550W-620W quality unit. Either a XFX 550W or Antec 620W would be the best options. I suggest the Antec since it would be the safest route.

5/10, that PSU is really bad :(, It could break your entire system.

This build is better, IMO.

Gamer that PSU is not enough for a 970.. Not to mention it voids the STRIX's warranty.the CX430 is actually not that bad of a unit. It is much better than all of the other CX series. JohnnyGuru gave it a 9/10 which is pretty good. As for the memory. Why would you choose 1x8gb, this disavlea Dual Channel. And never use the H97 Anniversary. It is the lowest grade H97 board and is not even designed for casual gamers.

There isn't really a need to get a z97 board or an after market cooler since you won't be over clocking. It's just money well wasted. That PSU is also way over priced. If you would like a CPU cooler just for noise and looks conerns then that would be fine I guess. But I would rather just get a better CPU than waste money on a cooler.

The Tx3 is a really small, easy to install, quiet cooler which does the job really nicely for any people who want to swap out their stock coolers for something quieter and nicer looking.

EDIT: Okay so the PSU may seem over kill but it is a really good quality unit at a very good price. It will allow you to crossfire down the road. Is it s must that you have the blue colour scheme? Because a crossfire enabled motherboard is hard to find in a blue theme but there is the H97 PC MATE. It isnt the best board but it is still blue.

What that would look like with a red color scheme: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ftvHLk

Why would you post that when we are making progress... Not to mention the fact that you at a mATX board for an ATX case..
