Yeah, the tittle is basically it. I'm looking to upgrade my current GPU which is a HD 7750 to a R9-290x or GTX970.. probably will be the GTX970 due to the 290x power consumption and heating.

I was looking at the i5 4690k, is it REALLY worth it to upgrade from a 4460 for playing games such as GTA V and COD AW? I'll not be playing on super high settings, probably medium but at 1080p.

I'd appreciate some input! THANKS :D

There is ofcourse a difference between the i5-4690K and i5-4460, but not enough to pay that $100-200 that can be spent on something else, if you really want that performance boost and better fps, then use that extra money for a gtx 980 or get add ram for example,SSD ( ram and SSD won't have a big effect on games)...

I would only recommend upgrading to that CPU if you have a really old i5 (first or second gen) or an i3 card and anything weaker. I hope I helped!

Just saw this post and since I'm about to build a pc with the 4460 and 970 I'm surprised u said medium settings at 1080p. That combo of cpu and gpu should run both those games near max if not max round the 45-70 fps allowing fluctuation. Have u tried those settings?
