I've been reading this: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/326256-30-help-setup-raid-asrock-extreme4-please and it's been helpful, but now I'm stuck.

I have (4) 3TB drives in correct ports and a 2TB drive win7 in a port that the RAID can't see. I went through the BIOS RAID set up and it says it worked and I have just under 9TB in a RAID. However, in Computer Management in Win7, it says I have 4 drives with 700GB of unformatted space, and no RAID.

I have also had that issue where a mobo thinks a 3TB drive is only 2TB and has about 700GB leftover, which makes me suspicious about these 700GB drives that win7 thinks it sees.

I looked at the ASRock drivers list and didn't see a SATA RAID driver.
Do I need 64-bit Win7?

So? What did I miss?

Solution
Yes, you miss something.
1) The 2TB limit. If the HDD size is more than 2TB, you need to use the GPT format.
2) If your win7 is the 32 bit, and you use the uefi bios, and GPT boot support don't work. So don't use the 2TB in the GPT, you can still use it as the MBR format.

And now you need
1) Format the 3TB HDD to the GPT format, how to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/26193-convert-mbr-disk-gpt-disk.html
2) Download and install the intel RST ( iata_enu.exe ) https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22194
3) If your BIOS does not set to the RAID mode yet, you need to change to the RAID, but check the link how to, otherwise your PC will have problem to boot.

4) Reboot the PC, and set up the RAID5. * Make sure don't mess up the 2TB with OS.

More info for the 2 TB limit, and GPT format.
