I have gigabyte H61M DS2 rev 2.2 mobo and bought a hd 7750 3 month ago but it didn't work on my mobo. So i return it but after asking some people they told me to update bios for better graphics card compatibility, so now i am planning to buy a gtx 960 gpu but still worrying about PCI-e compatibility. Did it requires bios update to run on my mobo.?

http://www.gigabyte.in/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4197#bios

Here is a link for bios update for my mobo, my current bios is f7 and there is (f10a) bios for update which improves high end video card compatibility, but there is written it is a beta bios, what is beta bios.?

Sorry for so many questions, but guys please help me. Thanks in advance.

From what I can tell, the Gigabyte usually doesn't publish Beta BIOS, when they do, the official release is usually followed a few months later. With things like BIOS, they're usually much better tested than most production software so updating to Beta is usually not a huge risk. All the Beta tag means is that this version isn't as thoroughly tested as an official release.

Since this Beta fixes an specific issue you're having. Go ahead and install it. But keep an eye on the site as well. In a month or 2, its official release should be available.

Edit: BIOS updates are cumulative, if you install F10, it will have all the fixes in F8.

SATA II is an older type, capable of 3Gbps transfer speeds.

SATA III is the newer standard, capable of double (6Gbps) transfer speeds.

If your board has 1 or both on them, the manual should indicate this (as well as which ports are which).
