Try downloading a testing software like seatools or something similar. The last time I used it, it worked for non-seagate drives.

Hopefully you can determine whether or not it's faulty with the short test. If not that try the long test. It's entirely possible that you have a bad memory module, CPU thermal issue, Software/Driver conflicts, or something else, a large number of things can cause a BSOD.
