I've had my laptop for quite awhile. Up until recent, it's been working fine. Now, whenever I boot it up, I get colored lines going horizontally and sometimes rectangles going vertically. Sometimes it does start (rarely) but within a couple minutes it lags severely and the screen turns black. I am honestly clueless of to why it does this. It's a Lenova Thinkpad T61. As far as I know, I don't have any viruses.

This sounds like a hardware problem with the LCD. If the Hard Drive is an MBR drive (If it is not Windows 8, it probably is), unplug it and hook it up to another pc to see if it boots. If it Blue Screens a driver related error and NOT *a crucial thread has been terminated* then it tells you at least it boots. Also try hooking up an external monitor to the PC and see if that helps. Hook it up to another PC and look in the C:\Windows\MiniDump folder for dump files, and in C:\Windows for a "MEMORY.DMP" file. Thanks!
