Hello,

I am looking at the Asus Xonar DX and since I am relatively new to headsets and little experience with sound cards other than onboard can anyone please tell me if the DX's lack of headphone amp be an issue with a general gaming headphone such as the G230?

If you're using a headset, don't bother getting a sound card. Especially if it's a low-end one like that. You'd be a lot better off just spending a bit extra on the headset itself.
