You aren't reading my post. It is NOTEPAD itself that you need to run as administrator. Re-read my last post or go to start -> all programs -> accessories -> notepad (right click on notepad) -> run as administrator. Once you have NOTEPAD running as administrator then open the hosts file inside notepad.
You might still have to do a "run as administrator" for notepad and then open the file.
But when I right click on the file there's no "run as administrator option"...
If you put "notepad" in the search box of the start menu and it shows up at the top of the list, you can't right click on it and get a "run as administrator" ??? HUH ....
