Which Part of my PC should I upgrade (2011 build medium budget)

Hey all, I built a PC back in 2011 and my parts are as follows

GPU- AMD Radeon HD 6900
CPU- Intel core i5-3470 processor 3.2 gHZ
Motherboard- AsRock (couldn't find exact model sorry)
Memory- 8192MB RAM

Which Part Should I upgrade? Budget is between $200-$300

GPU. The CPU is still very viable and capable of playing games and doing stuff.
A 200-300$ gpu would be like a 280/x or a 960..

Best GPU in that price range is the R9 290.

If you have a good power supply, get a R9 290. They are currently on sale since NVIDIA's Maxwell GPUs (970, 980, TITAN X) blow them out of the water at higher prices.

Thank you guys! It seems obvious that the problem is the GPU. I'll check out my Power Supply and see if its powerful enough for the R9 290
