I want to build this PC, but I am not sure if this is an overkill or not.

Here is my build: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/9WGsBm
Yes, it's a Canadian link, I am from Canada.
So, here is the American link if you are from America or just prefer USD in general: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9WGsBm

To find out if it's an overkill or not, I obviously have to tell you what this PC will be used for.
Well, I want to be able to play all games, no lag, at ULTRA settings.
I also want to edit and render videos at great speeds.

I'm just unsure about the Case, is it a good airflow case? Please give me better suggestions if there are any better cases for airflow around the same price.

I'm also unsure about the Video Card. Is Gigabyte a reliable brand for GPUs? Should I get a GTX 980 instead? Maybe an R9 290X, since it is cheaper, but I heard it has a bad heating up reputation.

Anything else I should change? Let me know.

Made it a lot better and a LITTLE cheaper.
You do not want to go with corsair cx psu's.
The extreme 3 is overpriced. The gaming 3 is better.
Put in a TON better case and psu.

Will you be SLI'ing later on?
If yes then a 980 will make sense.

Actually if I were you I'd wait for the 300 series from AMD before spending that kind of money.

When 2 or more cards work together in tandem in a single system. You just add an extra card for more horse power.
Nvidia calls it SLI, AMD calls it CrossfireX.

I'm not planning on SLI or Crossfiring, mostly because I don't know how to, and I wanna keep things simple.

Isn't GTX better than R9?

For the things you changed that I'm curious about:
..You changed my RAM from 1866 to 1600, what's the difference?
..You changed my SSD from the Samsung 250GB to Crucial 256GB, is the Crucial better? and how?
..What makes the gaming 3 better than the extreme 3?
