i recently upgraded my processor from Intel dual core E2160 1.8ghz to Core 2 duo E8500 3.16ghz with 1333 FSB and x9.5 mutiplier . my mobo is mercury PI945gcm
In specification it is written it supports upto 1333 MHZ FSB

After installing, my pc started with some problems like vlc player fails to play HEVC format videos, games lags, wont reboot.
so wat i did , i again put back my old processor to check & it worked fine.
Next day i again reinstalled the core 2 duo processor, the problems resolved except for 1, i.e. IT WON'T REBOOT. i.e after the windows shutting down screen, it says no vdo output , entering sleep mode, although the power is on along with all the fans running. In order to reboot i have to manually pressed the restart button.
But in CMOS setting if i change the CPU Voltage from Auto to 1066 FSB it reboots.
Note: my processor multiplier is reduced from x 9.5 to 6.0 (no option to increase in bios) making it run at 330*6= 1980 mhz= 1.98 ghz instead of 3.16 ghz,
My pc spec:
PI945GCM mobo, core 2 duo 3.16 ghz, Ram DDR2 667 mhz 2gb, Nvidia GT630 1gb graphics card.
my Questions are
As the board and processor is working properly , why wont it reboot?
Is the CPU not compatible?
or mobo supPorts onli 1066fsb?
note -no bios update from vendor.
Plz giv some experience anwers.
