Bought a sweet expensive set of DDR2 RAM to put into my old crappy HP m8125x to get it to 4gb for hard analytical software work.

However, upon opening my PC I found it physically impossible to get to the ram slots. There is a additional "docking bay?" on this computer thats the size of an optical drive. It sticks out half way across the motherboard and is encased in a metal container thats fixed to the inside of the case. In other words, I cannot remove it.

The ram slots are directly behind it. Moving around wires, unplugging them and trying with all my might I can just poke the slot with the tip of my index finger.

What do you guys do in a situation like this? I don't think I can physically get to the slots absent unscrewing the entire motherboard and yanking it out; which I dont think I can do anyway because this giant metal docking bay/optional drive thing is in the fcking way. I feel like returning the RAM and spending 10x more on an entire PC though thats kind of excessive.
