PC only booting with one stick of 4gb rM

I can only boot with 4gb of ram. When I go into the BIOS and enable XMP it does not save, so the next time I go into the BIOS, it is once again disabled... I really need help. My mobo is the gigabyte Z97 sli, and my CPU is the i5 4690k. Thanks in advance:)

Um...What version of Windows do you have? 7 or 8? 32-bit or 64-bit? Because, if i remember correctly, Windows 7 32-bit only allows up to 4gb of RAM to be recognized even if you have more than it shows.
