Is Windows 8 or 8.1 better than Windows 7 When it comes to Game Performance?

Generally we discuss more about Hardware for Games.
But I want a Software based discusson too.
So as the question will this make any Difference with Different OS?

Yes Windows 8.1 will give you more FPS in games but it depends on how much you need/want and if you can live with Win 8.1 after installing classic shell to get rid of the crap metro screen. On BF4 64 player multiplayer on 1080p ultra (no msaa) with a stock i5 3570k and hd 7870ghz I was getting 60fps constantly basically in a big 64 player Gulmon Railway conquest match when I tested it before using the in-game FPS counter on Windows 7, so 8.1 in that case isn't even needed.

8.1 also boots pretty fast on just a regular 7200rpm HDD too. Of course my SSD i5 pc is faster but using my Phenom x6 pc w/ 7200rpm HDD on 8.1 wasn't bad.

at the end of the day, nothing will be unplayable on Win 7, which I actually prefer just from using it for...

in performance it would be same , but in gaming th win 8 or 8.1 should be better than win7 ,i think win 8and 8.1 is lighter than it previous 7 which uses more of your system

at the end of the day, nothing will be unplayable on Win 7, which I actually prefer just from using it for years on various pc's ever since it came out. And Win 10 comes out this summer for free to any Win 7 or 8 user so it's kinda a mute point too. Go with either honestly and don't worry too much, if you want more traditional, go 7.

What your pc specs are will matter WAY more than if you chose to go 8.1 over 7.
