So basically I haven't been gaming a lot because I've been saving for a ps4/laptop/upgrading my PC and I can't decide on what to do. I can sell my PC to get a laptop or just get a ps4 or upgrade my PC. I have over a hundred games on steam and have spent tons of hours on ps3. I want to have the basic Windows needs such as Office or Photoshop or Audition but at the same time play on high settings. I'm also a musician so having a good sound card is important to me. My current PC already has a good sound card for recording. This leaves me a few choices.

•Upgrade my current PC (2gb ram, gtx 550ti, 250gb HDD, core 2 duo 3ghz, Asus p5Q pro motherboard)

•Sell PC and ps3 and replace with good laptop (min 8gb ram with good graphics to run games on high)

•Keep PC for basic needs and sell ps3 and get ps4

I don't really mind the ps4 exclusives even though some of them are cool or will be cool and I'm really used to playing on my ps3 and I enjoy playing with a controller but I'm sure battlefield hardline would be much better on PC than on ps4. My budget is less than $1000.
Sorry for my bad english (I'm Iranian)

Solution
A hard one...

Few options:

Upgrade PC as much as possible (without rebuild)
-Buy a new GPU (GTX 750Ti - $100-120 - would enable you to play in high settings in most games. Wouldn't go any higher because of CPU age...)
-Buy more RAM

This should manage high settings. Only massive limitation is the CPU, it is old and not up to playing with a better GPU (960/970/r9 280x/290)

Total upgrade cost: $130-160

If you sold the PC I wouldn't expect more than $200 for it on ebay to be honest... PS3, maybe $100? (not sure as I'm from UK).

$300 is not enough to buy a gaming laptop, you need at least 500 to be honest.

I would personally upgrade the PC. If you were gonna spend more cash then just buy a new mobo and an i3/i5.

This would be good...

This would be good with your old case and PSU.

Admirable
Personally, I'd go with Matt's option. depending on your budget, you could even upgrade to a i5, and as he said, the 750ti can run all the newest games on high (I have the 750 ti, and I can run Far Cry 4 on ultra and get 30 FPS steady)
